Women’s March on Montpelier

On Saturday, January 21, 2017, the Women’s March on Montpelier and Unity Rally drew between 15,000 to 20,000 people to Vermont’s state capital in conjunction with nation-wide women’s marches across the USA and all over the world.

The massive turnout, more than double what was expected,  clogged Interstate 89, temporarily closing three Montpelier exits after traffic backed up for many miles while people poured into Vermont’s capital. Many came to express their outrage at the election of Donald Trump as president of the United States due to the misogynistic and racist statements he made during his campaign.
